Once a popular port for pirates in the 1700s and a rest stop for Civil War blockade-runners in the 1800s, Little River – lies just beyond North Myrtle Beach. Little River’s “claim to fame” is the Blue Crab Festival. Every May it’s the main event as locals and tourists gather from miles around for arts and crafts, entertainment, and educational exhibits! Little River has a variety of shopping, entertainment, beautiful housing developments, wonderful educational facilities, and more!
Little River has over 4,000 residents but is still a rapidly growing community. The city is situated just below the North/South Carolina border and above North Myrtle Beach. Little River is approximately 20 miles north of Myrtle Beach, SC. Little River has consolidated schools, golf courses, new homes, condominiums, motels, bed-and-breakfasts, a post office, and more. Little River’s main point of access is US Hwy 17.
